Prestressed Movable Walls
Retaining Walls
Precast L-section Panels
Retaining walls constructed using precast L-section panels are a versatile and sustainable solution with many applications in the public, residential and commercial sectors. Installation is quick and largely independent of weather constraints.
A Versatile Solution
The Precast retaining walls are easily fitted together to produce a strong and permanent wall appropriate to a wide variety of applications:
- Managing changes in ground level in commercial and residential construction projects. The use of precast wall sections is of particular value when constraints of time, access and cost preclude the use of more time-consuming techniques.
- With suitable sealants, the management of wet products, and flood and landslide prevention.
- Construction of car-parking areas.
- The construction of bulk storage bays for building and industrial materials, recycled waste, and agricultural supplies and products. Bays can be quickly constructed in and shape and size.
- Security, privacy and protection.
- Ground levelling for sports and recreational facilities.
Quality Wall Panels in a Range of Sizes
Our panels are cast in high-quality l moulds in a range of sizes, making them adaptable to large and small projects. The maximum wall height which can be achieved using these sections is 3.8 metres, with a standard width of 1.2 metres. Openings can be cast into the sections to allow for pipes and ducts where necessary.
Simple and Time-Saving Erection
An engineer’s approval is needed for a retaining wall’s foundations and the stability of the soil, after which erection of the wall itself is quick and straightforward, as the panels fit together with a simple tongue-and-groove system. A small non-specialist workforce and basic plant are required for excavation, construction and backfill. After a minimal pause to allow for ground settling, other trades can be employed on site. The process is predictable in terms of time and cost.
Concrete A Walls
Concrete A Walls (Bunker Walls) are free standing precast units that can be used as buildings, bulk storage walls and as structural walls. All Concrete A Walls are manufactured in accordance with BS 8110 and all our products are CE accredited.
Croom’s Concrete A Walls are designed offer maximum flexibility as the units can be easily unbolted and re- sited when needed.
Main Uses
- Aggregate Storage
- Crop / Soil Storage
- Internal and external dividing walls
- MRF Bays (Material Recovery Facility)
Manufacture
- We have the capability to manufacture large quantities in a short space of time, this affords us the option to take on any job, big or small.
- Our process allows us to manufacture A walls to fit most size requirements.
Features
Our A Walls have been designed with external fixing points enabling then to be easily
unbolted and re-sited. This makes our pre stressed A Walls a very versatile solution for most situations.
Easy Installation
- Our A Walls can be moved easily due to the various options for lifting.
- The walls have 4 spaces for lifting from about. Holes have a diameter of 25mm
- Space underneath the walls also allow for the insertion of forks to allow lifting from underneath.
Benefits
- Optimum shape and profile for the storage of grain, aggregate and other bulk materials.
- Curved shape allows the free flow of material to the bottom of the silo.
- Straight portion at the base to allow ease of loading.
- Walls are designed to be portable, allowing you to change widths of bays.
- Available in heights of 2.4m and 3m and a width of 1.25m
- Corner units for the Bunker Walls are also available.

L Walls
Croom Concretes Precast L-Wall units are ideal for forming both retaining and containing structures in residential, commercial, industrial and waste developments.
L-Walls are the ideal product where speed of installation is necessary. The offer a fast, cost effective solution to constructing retaining and containing developments. Standard sizes range from 1m high up to 3.8m high with a width of 1.2m for all units.
Anchors comprise of H.20 high yield deformed bar and two part polyester resin mortar, used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Position the retaining wall units onto the concrete foundation and align using a mortar and shims as required. Using the 30mm diameter holes in the unit base as a guide to drill into the foundation to the required depth. Pour the sufficient mixed resin into the hole first then insert the H.20 bar so that it is just below the surface of the unit and completely encapsulated the resin.
